Positive Youth Development Program.
The purpose of the Frontiers International. Springfield Club.Positive Youth Development Program is to seek to improve the quality and quantity of leadership in the Springfield Black Community by:
- Identifying and selecting current and potential leaders from among our Black youth and cultivating that potential.
- Exposing them to a series of experiences designed to strengthen them as individuals. introducing them to different facets of the community and stimulate their interest in becoming future leaders.
- Provide them with the motivation. skills and resources to improve their decision-making skills and enhance their self-esteem.
- Providing participants with positive role models to emulate.
- Providing participants with factual information about their community and resources.
- Developing a network of potential community leaders.
The participants for this program are young black black males, 6th to 8th grade. They will be selected based on a prior history of leadership or a strong desire to assume such a role.
